Dr. Sainudeen Pattazhy, famous Indian Environmentalist, former Associate professor in Zoology at Kerala University and currently working as Professor at an International University in Singapore. He embodies several personalities- environmental scientist, science manager, educator, author, and communicator– all rolled into one. There are few Indian scientists who have done so much in so many different fields, and have done it with such fervor. Due to the efforts, NASA named a minor planet after his name called 5178 Pattazhy planet in 2008. He is the first Keralite, who got planet name and became a part of the world history. Andrew Knight is a Veterinary Professor of Animal Welfare. He established a Centre for Animal Welfare and two animal welfare degrees at England’s University of Winchester in 2015. He’s an Adjunct Professor in the School of Veterinary Medicine, College of Environmental and Life Sciences, Murdoch University, Western Australia, and in the School of Environment and Science at Griffith University, Queensland. He is a British, European, American and New Zealand Veterinary Specialist in Animal Welfare; a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and a Principal Fellow of Advance HE. His publications on animal welfare issues have attracted numerous awards.
